In 2014, the German Society for Pain Medicine (DGS) published its first practice guideline on "Primary Headache Disorders." The guideline aims to provide practical instructions and support for the diagnosis and treatment of primary headaches in clinical practice. The DGS practice guideline contains application-oriented recommendations for patient-centered treatment of primary and secondary headache disorders. The current version presents new developments and updates to the practice guideline for acute migraine medication and migraine prophylaxis.
