Panel discussion on the topic of "Pain and Sleep" with Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Zulley and Prof. Dr. med. Hartmut Göbel on September 11, 2010 in the Bad Godesberg town hall

On September 11th, a panel discussion with prominent figures on the topic of "Pain and Sleep" took place in the Bonn-Bad Godesberg town hall.

Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Zulley and Prof. Dr. med. Hartmut Göbel discuss together with the private practice pain therapist Dr. med. Michael Küster from Bonn and the lung specialist Markus Litt-Lampe from the Malteser Hospital Bonn/Rhein-Sieg.

Topic: Groundbreaking results from the individual fields and interesting, previously little-researched interactions between pain and sleep.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Peter Strauven, a preventive medicine specialist from Bonn.

People suffering from chronic pain often sleep poorly, and conversely, those who sleep poorly are often more susceptible to pain: a very detrimental vicious cycle. The connection between pain and sleep is still far too little understood in pain therapy.

Discussing the connections and finding common solutions was the subject of intensive discussion among experts from practice and clinics.

Below you can watch and listen to the contributions.
