Kiel Pain Clinic receives visitors from Tanzania
During their stay in Germany at the invitation of the Protestant partner parishes of Kiel-Dietrichsdorf and Schönkirchen, Pastor Jubilant Anthony Ngowi and three other parishioners from the town of Uchira in the East Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania visited the Kiel Pain Clinic on October 16, 2009 and were able to learn about the possibilities of modern pain therapy.
In Uchira, medical care is only available in a small dispensary with very limited facilities and treatment options, staffed by one doctor and three nurses. In this context, a partnership between the Kiel Pain Clinic and the dispensary in Uchira is being planned in cooperation with the association "Kiel Doctors for Africa" (Kieler Ärzte für Afrika e.V.). The groundwork for this partnership was laid by the visit of the guests from Tanzania.
