Around two-thirds of all adults in Germany suffer from headaches at some point – tension headaches and migraines being the most common. In addition to medication, the right preventative measures and pain management strategies significantly improve the quality of life for those affected. We want to support you in learning and applying these measures and strategies. That's why Techniker Krankenkasse, together with the Kiel Pain Clinic under the direction of Prof. Dr. Hartmut Göbel, developed the TK Headache Coach.
How does the coaching work?
The core of the coaching program is patient education, in which you receive a new lesson each week for eight weeks. These lessons provide you with a variety of suggestions to develop your own individual strategy for preventing and managing your headaches.
The interactive headache diary allows you to regularly document your pain. This is an important prerequisite for better understanding your headaches and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.
Actively combating the pain
The Headache Coach is designed to effectively support your medical treatment for headaches. It presents you with possible activities and measures that have proven helpful and effective for many patients.
Which measures help varies from person to person. Therefore, we encourage you to try different approaches through coaching. Use the headache diary to document your symptoms and discuss your experiences with your doctor. This way, you can find your own path to a life with as little pain as possible.
Participation in the TK Headache Coach program is free of charge. The network partners of the nationwide headache network can advise you on this.
