Professor Dr. Hartmut Göbel, Chief Physician of the Kiel Pain Clinic, is considered one of Germany's top physicians in the field of pain therapy by the editors of Fokus Gesundheit, based on an independent evaluation. The specialist in neurological and behavioral medicine pain therapy, with a focus on migraines, headaches, cluster headaches, medication-overuse headaches, neuralgia, and nerve and muscle pain at the Kiel Pain Clinic, has once again been included in the prestigious 2013 list of top doctors.
The list of top doctors, which has existed for 20 years, is considered a renowned guide to highly specialized, state-of-the-art care. The evaluation incorporates extensive surveys conducted in cooperation with medical societies, scientific publications, recommendations from patient associations, self-help groups, hospital directors, senior physicians, and specialized private practitioners.

Professor Dr. Göbel conceived and founded the Kiel Pain Clinic. He developed a networked, highly specialized care system in the field of pain therapy. He initiated the nationwide headache treatment network for the modern care of severely affected patients from all over Germany and abroad.

The renowned list of doctors was previously published in the print edition of Focus magazine; it is also published in a special issue, "FOCUS Gesund," and as a book. Since 2013, it has also been available as a smartphone app.
